This is a picture book full of scary monsters. A boy called Heiza wins a spooky sports car in a Spook Lottery. When he goes for a drive with his girlfriend Kaako, they come across all kinds of monsters that eventually get into the car. Heiza and Kaako are not afraid of their passengers and instead head at full speed towards Kappa Pond, where a crowd of kappas, Japanese water imps, are waiting for them. Eventually, everyone joins together in the swirling, circle dance of the Bon festival at Kappa Village.Readers will surely enjoy this fantastic drive in a smart hearse-like black car with Heiza, Kaako and all those monsters that are not only spooky and scary but also humorous.
