Mitsuki Eda is a quiet boy in the fifth grade. He feels out of place in the class room in the beginning of a new semester, but a funny and popular boy, Oshino asks him to play baseball together. Mitsuki lives with his working mother who brings home “people from work”. They call his mother “Madam”, but Mitsuki cannot accept the way people call her. One day when Mitsuki was starting to enjoy school, his mother tells him that she will quit the job and move to a new town. Mitsuki chooses to live with his grandfather, whom he has seen only once four years ago. Since then, his quiet life starts to change.
Michiko Yazuki was born in 1970 in Kanagawa. Her debut work is Juni-Sai (Twelve Years Old, 2002) which won Kodansha Award for New Writer of Juvenile Literature, 2001. Other works include Mirai-no Musuko (My Future Son, 2005). |
